Hadramawt Governorate
One of the Yemeni provinces lying at the southeast of Yemen and is characterizes for its diversified relief which offers a variety of tourism attraction factors . It has a shoreline, and then there are the mountainous plains , and then there are the plateaux nearing 2000 meters above sea level and expanses of desert in the Empty Quarter. Hadramawt is also renowned for having the longest fertile valley in the whole peninsula which exceeds 16 Klometers in length.
Hadramawt is an ancient Yemenite province where human life was traced back to the earliest time possible. Hadramawt was a vassal of Sheba and later became prosperous and dominated the area extending from Oman in the East to Asir in the West.
Its Trade was concentrated on oliba- num which used to grow largely in Hadramawt to the extent of naming one of its king as the Olibanum King, Agriculture was also paid attention to by the construction of dams, water conducting channels and cisterns. Caravan routes were secured and impressive temples were Shabwat which is only 20 kilometers away from Marib and housed the Sun God whom they named "SSIN". The Kingdom collapsed due to change of caravan routes from eastern Yemen to the Midland Plateaux passing by Dhofar-Yarim, Mankath and Meeca. During the end of the third century AD,the Yemenite King Shamar Yah- raash extended his control on all ancient Yemen and was named: King of Sheba, Hadramawt, Raidan, Yamnat, Baharam, Al-Arab and Todami.e the whole peninsula.

Hadramawt lies to the east of Yemen, Mukalla the capital city of the province is 770 kilometers away from Sana'a and lies between Iatitudes 14-20 and longitudes 48-51 .
Climate:
Hadramawt is over whelmed by the tropical hot climate where tem- perature does not exceed 63 Celsius due to Monsoon humid winde. In winter, the temperature cools down at the coast and ranges between 20-40 degree while in inner Hadramawt 17-20 degrees Celsius.

Population:
Hadramawt is currently a home to 1029462 inhabitants as per 2004 census.
